OMKARESHWAR LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME – MADHYA PRADESH :

  • Piped irrigation for 58020 hectares of arid land spread over 267 draught-prone villages of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Water source: Omkareswar Right Branch Canal (ORBC).
  • Water from ORBC is lifted to the 10Mm3 Sasilya Tank by 10km long 2400mm MS twin MS pipelines.
  • Main carrier from Sasilya Tank is a 58km long lined open canal followed by 67km of closed conduit pipeline.
  • Several closed conduit pipe distributaries draw water directly from the main carrier (open canal and closed conduit) for irrigating the command area divided into roughly 40 ha chaks.
  • Design duty = 0.25 lps/ha.
  • Total number of chak outlets to be managed and controlled = 1749.
  • Average distance from one outlet to another outlet = 500m (1/2 kilo meter), implying that manual operation and control of chaks would be extremely difficult.
  • Saisanket scope:
    • Automation of pumping station comprising 6 number of 2 MW capacity pumps.
    • Bladder vessel and non-slam air valves based surge protection system for trouble-free operation of rising mains.
    • Air management system and isolation valves for the entire pipe system (rising main and distribution system).
    • Energy-less and wireless outlet management system for all 1749 chak outlets for efficient operation and equitable distribution of available water.



TERNA LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME – MAHARASHTRA :

  • Existing open canal irrigation system serving 7500 acres was converted to deliver pressurized filtered water by pipelines.
  • Minimum pressure head at 50 ha chak outlet = 25m .
  • Design duty = 0.25 lps/ha.
  • Water source: Terna Dam.
  • Single pump station serving both right branch and left branch pipelines.
  • Innovative design for pump intake – VT pumps immersed in CAN intakes instead of open intake.
  • Saisanket scope:
    • Automation of pumping station comprising 5 pumps.
    • Surge protection system.
    • Pump control valves replacing troublesome check valves at pump discharge.
    • Air management system and isolation valves for the entire pipe system.
    • 100 micron automatic online filtration system at pump discharge.
    • Energy-less and wireless outlet management system for efficient operation and equitable distribution of available water. The outlet management system, on top of providing 25 m residual pressure, also comes with secondary filtration system thus facilitating plug-and-play micro irrigation.


DEHNI LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME – MAHARASHTRA :

  • First ever government project in India providing pressurized filtered water to individual farm fields serving a total of over 17000 areas (7000 Ha) of arid land .
  • Minimum pressure head at 0.5 acre farm-level connection = 15m.
  • Design duty = 0.25 lps/ha, Estimated volume of water = 21 Mm3/year (0.74 TMC).
  • Water source: Bembla Dam.
  • Command area is divided into 57 zones and each zone into 16 sections.

    • Design of complete distribution system
    • Surge protection system for the lift side.

    • Automatic online filtration system at pump discharge.

SARDAR SAROVAR NARMADA NIGAM LTD., GUJARAT, :

  • World's Single Largest Pumping Scheme having 26 Concrete Volute Pumps, 22 Vertical Turbine Pumps, 3 Power Stations & 5 Pumping Stations, 410,000 liter/sec lift of total system, 132 towns and villages to benefit, 1.8 Million hectare land under irrigation. Pump Delivery Size of each CVP is 4.5meter .
  • Five pumping stations on the Saurashtra Branch Canal in the reach Ch. 68.485 km to 102.84 km.
  • The pumping scheme comprising of pumping Station 1 to 5 (PS1 to PS5) is a sequential flow transmission system, with large discharge, low head pumps delivering water to a open channel transmission system through a bank of large diameter, short length conduits, no control or non-return valves in the conduit.
  • Peak location along the alignment is above the water level in the delivery canal so it was necessary to avoid the draining of the canals on power failure/pump stoppage is necessary; also avoid unnecessary increase in static lift.
  • Saisanket Deisgn, Supply, Install and Commissioned Siphon breaker valve in three different sizes 400mm, 300mm & 250mm on the peak of each duct of CVP & VTP for efficient and smooth operation of the system.
  • This pneumatically positively actuated solenoid controlled Valves with suitably designed air compressors system and pneumatic piping, will positively close bubble tight and immediately open on pump stop. Both the opening and closing speed of the valve can be controlled at field.
  • This project has become a model project for KBL with the help of Siphon Breaker System.
  • USE OF ENERGY EFFICIENT SIPHON BREAKER SYSTEM PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS .
  • Savings in Motor Rating 8.5 MW.

WANGNA LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME – MAHARASHTRA :

  • Piped irrigation system serving more than 10,000 acres of arid land.
  • Highly undulating terrain – difference between highest and lowest outlet is about 70m.
  • Design duty = 0.25 lps/ha.
  • Water source: Open Canal from Dhom Dam,
  • Canal flows for 15 days each month from October through May each year.
    • Facilitates irrigation both in Kharif and Rabi seasons.

    • Surge protection system for the rising main lifting water by over 100m.
    • Air management system
    • Energy-less outlet management system for efficient operation and equitable distribution of available water.


SRIPADASAGAR LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME – TELANGANA :

  • A complex web of rising mains lifting water by over 400m .
  • Total length of pipeline: more than 100km.
  • Most complex segment: 3m diameter twin rows (23km each) carrying a total of 28m3/s with a total lift of 115m.
  • Total capacity of pumps: 150 MW.

GODAVARI Lift Irrigation Scheme, Andhra Pradesh (Client-HCC and NCC)
